Video footage shows an interaction between casino public safety officers and visitors in a parking lot outside Morongo Casino. Security officers approached a group, stating that surveillance cameras reported someone smoking near an elevator.
The individual denied smoking, questioning the officers about the claim and asking to see video evidence. Security personnel explained that dispatch handled the camera footage and instructed the individuals that they needed to provide identification or leave the premises.
During the encounter, an officer informed the person filming that recording was not permitted on tribal property. Another public safety officer arrived and noted that he had previously spoken to the individual earlier and already possessed his identification information.
Officers advised the group that they had two options: leave the property immediately or face arrest. The individual grabbed his skateboard and moved toward a vehicle as officers instructed the group to get into their car and depart the casino grounds.
