Osiris Negrete shown in the video she was off duty and apparently drunk While serving officers alcohol on duty at her birthday party, was on probation like Taisyn Crutchfield, the officer who was placed on suspension for 7 months for attempting to de-escalate a scene. In July of 2023, while Taisyn Crutchfield was on suspension, she received the Mothers Against Drunk Driving Award (MADD), just like Osiris Negrete did this year (pictured July 1st, 2024). The Pasadena Police Department did not allow Taisyn Crutchfield to attend her ceremony. In fact, she was notified via email that she received the award, after the ceremony was concluded. This is why Pasadena Police do not have any photographs of Taisyn Crutchfield receiving her award unlike pictured here, Osiris Negrete. Pasadena Police also failed to photograph Officer Justin Meeks, who is another black officer who received the award last year in July 2023, and post it on their instagram.
Pasadena Police continue to show discrimination against black officers while white officers constantly get praised even if they are the ones serving the alcohol or intoxicated themselves. Let’s not forget Sergeant Mike Gligorijevic, who is still a sergeant at Pasadena Police Department, ran from the California Highway Patrol due to being intoxicated and refusing to do Field Sobriety Tests. He was armed and dangerous and left behind his 13 year old daughter at the time (child endangerment) . He was also with Lieutenant Sean Dawkins, now a commander, who also was intoxicated that night. Nowadays, if you run from the police you end up seriously injured, or shot in the back. Why the difference of treatment?
