In a heartbreaking and shocking incident, a video has surfaced showing a terrified 19-year-old autistic teen, Isaiah Trammell, being taunted. He was threatened and stripped naked before fatally injuring himself.
Isaiah Trammell was arrested in March 2023 during a mental health episode. He was placed in a cell with concrete walls, despite being arrested for banging his head against a wall. He desperately begged for his medication, but officers cruelly ignored his pleas. “Let me out”, Trammell shouted, repeatedly banging his head against the cell door. His desperation went unanswered, and he was eventually rushed to the hospital. He died three days later.
The incident began when neighbors called the police after Trammell spent the night banging his head against the wall. When he spoke to officers, he said he was trying to “get rid of the crazy in my head.” Tragically, his cries for help were met with negligence and brutality.
Now, the Montgomery County Jail Coalition is demanding an investigation by the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections into Trammell’s death. This tragic case underscores the urgent need for reform in handling individuals experiencing mental health crises.
