Breaking the Silence: NYPD Officer’s Homophobic Slur Sparks Outrage and Calls for Accountability

NYPD Officer’s Homophobic Slur Sparks Outrage. Internal Review Underway. LGBTQ+ Advocacy Group, GOAL, Denounces Incident, Demands Respect. #AlwaysForThePeople

An officer for the NYPD was caught saying, “Suck my dick, f****t” on their patrol car intercom.

His name hasn’t been released, but the NYPD have said that they are conducting an internal review on the incident.

The NYPD also have an advocacy group that serves their LGBTQ law enforcement community, called the Gay Officers Action League (GOAL).

Their president, Detective Brian Downey, has stepped forward and condemned the officers, and has said, “We refuse to remain silent.

We are committed to ensuring that all LGBTQIA+ individuals, both within or outside the law enforcement community, are treated with respect and dignity.”
