Unveiling the Shocking Downfall: Grace Baez, NYPD Officer Turned Alleged Narcotics Dealer, Faces Federal Charges. A Tale of Corruption, Crime, and the Pursuit of Justice.

Grace Baez was arrested by federal officers for allegedly dealing narcotics such as fentanyl and heroin while on duty. She was charged with conspiracy to distribute narcotics and distribution of narcotics. She was caught trying to sell drugs to a federal informant between October 9th and October 29th.

Officials have said that Baez tried to give the informant a sample of “top quality” fentanyl that was stored in a Mentos can. She said that she could also sell them a kilo of heroin for $25k and 800 grams of fentanyl, with pricing dependent on the drug’s purity.

She was on desk duty when she would arrange the meetings and talk prices to be able to sell “kilogram quantities of narcotics.” When she met with the informant, she had a kilo and 400 grams of heroin, and 640 grams of fentanyl that’s as labeled “640 Manzana.” She was arrested the same day that she met the informant.

Her home was raided and the federal police found more drugs and a kilogram press machine. During their search, her boyfriend allegedly attempted to throw out the drugs they confiscated.

Baez has been a cop for the NYPD since 2012 and was put on modified duty in 2020 after she was accused of misconduct. She made almost $100,000 in 2022, which is less than other years, because she did less overtime due to being on desk duty. She is currently suspended without pay and faces living the rest of her life in prison.
